Socks ~ Dora
I love this image because it’s fun and whimsical. The composition and the black and white treatment highlighting the stripes on the socks (hence the name of the photograph) makes it appealing. It was taken during a famous Mardi Gras-type street festival in Key West, Florida.
The matching costume worn by this group included green wigs, bushy white eyebrows, and suspenders; but it was the pattern I saw that drew me to their legs. This is one of the things I love about photography; you can find an impactful fine art image in the most unexpected places.
Many times I imagine the ideal place to showcase a particular image. In this case, I envision a room with a contemporary décor but sometimes a more conservative space can still accommodate a bit of whimsy. Where would you hang this piece?

Looking forward to your comments.
I would not have believed that those legs and socks belonged to men.
